What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

To do this, first remove the hidden key from your key fob, then open its battery compartment. Remove the old battery, then insert a new one in its place. Make sure the positive side of the new one is facing the same direction as the old one did. Close the compartment in the battery and then put the key to its original place within the case.

Remote Start

Nissan remote start is a feature that permits drivers to heat up or cool their vehicle from outside the vehicle, if they're within operating range. The ignition of the car is activated when the driver presses a button on the key fob or smartphone app. The remote start system may also activate climate control and allow the driver to choose their preferred temperature. Lockout Protection

Lockout protection eliminates locks that are caused by impedance malfunctions. A special module in the power control unit monitors for the activity of the impedance relay and then shuts off the output. This feature is available for vehicles equipped with the Smart Key system, or by using the vehicle personalization menu.

Many fatal accidents have occurred when the machine was running when it was supposed to be turned off to prevent repairs or maintenance. These accidents are usually caused by stored energy that isn't properly released. Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) which makes sure that machines remain off until a person with authorization releases them, helps avoid these kinds of accidents.

The LOTO system is comprised of a set of locks tags, locks, and other equipment that are used to isolate, secure or block the machine from an electrical source. All "affected" and "authorized" personnel should be trained on the use of these lockout/tag-out devices. Each device is clearly identified and labeled, including the date and time of the application, the name of the person authorized and the reason for the lockout or tag-out (repair, maintenance, etc). It should also be clearly stated that these devices cannot be removed until a full LOTO procedure has been followed.
