Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to celebrate the brand's centenary. It is constructed of Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes an eagle-like "B" paperweight, keys, and an original 1930s booklet that features never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a unique specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. This includes cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are stitched in Centenary Gold, adding to the feeling of celebration. The key is made of vegetable tanned leather. It takes two days to craft each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched and sealed, then polished to achieve a high-quality result. It also comes with Secure-A-Key which can help prevent theft of keys without keypads. The guests receive the keys in a case designed by hand, which contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can also be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps, which illuminate the door-opening pathway with the owner's name or emblem as they arrive at the vehicle.

Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man-hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. The inability to adopt modern technology is the main factor to this time-consuming task.
