The Eufy 11S is one of the cheapest self-emptying robot vacuums on the market. In our tests it was able to remove dry oats from hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. The dust bin opens and empty quickly, making it much easier to use than some other models in its price.

It is charged at its base and then begins cleaning as soon as it's done. Its obstacle-avoidance technology gets caught in socks and cords and it is unable to reach the thresholds of low.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is a cheaper self-emptying robot vacuum for pets robotic vacuum cleaner that many people seem to love. It is great at getting under furniture and is a good choice for those with hard floors or who do a lot of cleaning. Its suction is weaker than our top picks, but it's still effective. It has a large dust bin and a long-lasting battery. The app lets you schedule daily cleanings, or select a specific room. It's also possible to draw a map of your home, which will aid in avoiding areas you don't want to visit.

The app is easy to use and has an intuitive layout. It doesn't have any advanced features, but it's simple enough to use and makes it easy to track the status of your robot. It has a tutorial that will walk you through the basics.

The cleaning pattern of Bounce Navigation isn't always logical. Sometimes it follows straight lines and at other times, it concentrates on the edges of the space. But it is able to clean your entire floor. It's not the best Self-emptying Vacuum at navigating obstacles, it was unable to get under our pet food bowls and piano pedals, and was stuck in our 2.25 inch shag carpet several times.

While it's a good option for light daily cleanings, we think there are better robot vacuums that are better than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba is much easier to maintain and has lower costs for recurring maintenance and is charged faster. It also has a bigger dustbin and performs better on all types of surfaces and is able to climb over low-lying obstructions (like electrical cords) more easily.

The eufy RoboVac 11S is another good alternative for regular vacuuming. It is designed very similarly to our top pick and is excellent for picking up smaller and fine dirt on hard flooring. It does a good job on carpets with medium or low pile. Like the Roomba by iRobot Roomba, it has a very large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It comes with a user-friendly remote control and you can organize daily cleanings with the app. The battery can last for about an hour and the dustbin is easily emptied by removing it from its dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great robot with a surprising array of features for automation. It is available in three models including the standard S7, the S7 MaxV Plus, and the S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only model equipped with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternate Auto-Empty Dock). These docks let the robot return to its base after cleaning and empty the debris it has collected into a dust collection bag or reservoir, drain its dirty water tank, and wash its mopping pad.

The S7's sensors work in tandem to eliminate obstacles and clean floors. It can identify flooring types and save the map of rooms and zones, and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It was able to perform well in standard tests, but couldn't match the iRobot Roomba j7+ during the carpet deep cleaning test.

You can program the S7 with the companion app to run a cleansing cycle according to your schedule. You can choose the cleaning mode like eco or automatic, and a weekday, day, or time. You can also decide whether the robot should stop if it is running out of power or encounters an obstacle.

If you don't own an iPhone but you can still use the S7 by connecting a remote control to the charging dock. The remote controls are a bit confusing, but once you've got the hang of them they work well. The power button also acts as the 'Cleaning' option, and the Spot Clean button instructs the robot to clean up an area around itself. The "Spot Clean" button also activates the child lock.

In addition to the new mapping features, Roborock improved its mobile app, adding live view features that lets you see what the S7 is up to at home. You can enable this by pressing a particular sequence of buttons on the S7 and then creating an unlock pattern in the app to use any time you wish to see what the robot is doing.

3. Shark IQ XL

Shark isn't as well-known in the field of robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock, but our tests on Shark has proven it to be among the most efficient self-emptying robot vacuums currently on the market. It's simple to set up, has an enormous bin that is easy to empty (albeit somewhat loudly) into a trash bin when it's full and is easily programmed to complete a whole-home clean on a regular basis or as required.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi, which lets you monitor it via the Shark app and check its battery level as it cleans. The app allows you to program a cleaning routine and receive push notifications about its current status, pause cleaning and clean up, or set it for only one area. It can also be controlled with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will tell you which power mode it is currently in--Eco, Normal, or Max--but we didn't find that any of the modes had a significant impact to the cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the dustbin at the end of a cleaning cycle into the base, and then automatically empty itself. The bin can store up to 60 days of debris, meaning you don't need to empty it more than once, unless your pets have long hair. If you do need to empty it, you can simply detach the side container and place it over the trash can, and then press the button.

There's nothing to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it does feel slightly less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It's effective of cleaning carpeted floors but doesn't match the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of the performance of bare floors. The i7 is also better-built and feels more durable and sturdy, has less maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, charges faster, while offering similar battery performance and the most advanced automation features such as no-go zones as well as the ability to pick certain rooms to be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac and mop combination is a rare find that can do both tasks well. IRobot's Combo j7+ offers all the advantages of its j7 counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping but also includes additional features for both mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors help the j7+ identify flooring types, meaning it can choose between vacuuming and mopping during the first time it passes through a room. It also makes use of this information to prioritize cleaning rooms with carpets and rugs over those with hard floors.

Like most robotic vacuums, the j7+ is relatively quiet when it's running, and much quieter when mopping. The maximum reading of 64db on our decibel scale is comparable to general office chatter.

It's simple to establish the schedule for cleaning and change the way that the j7+ operates when its dust canister is full. The j7+ is also controlled by voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Assistant and other. The app lets you create and view maps in your home.

The j7+ did well in our tests on both hard and carpeted flooring, and was able to remove all the dirt we threw at it. It has a difficult time dealing with pet hair, large pieces of debris and sand. But it can clean them with more effort. It has excellent navigational skills and two cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.

The J7+ has some minor best self-Emptying vacuum flaws, for instance, it can be caught on cords or rugs and does not always turn off the mopping function when it's done vacuuming. This is a great model that checks all the boxes.

iRobot J7+ is one of the most efficient auto-emptying systems that we've ever tried. It spits out its 14oz / 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it automatically empties itself for you. This will reduce the amount of trash that you must get rid of. You'll only need to replace the bag on the dock every 60 days, based on how often you use the J7+.
