The laser navigation system is the most important feature of this machine. The X8 uses laser mapping technology that is more precise than previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to create an extensive map of your home. It also has the ability to store multiple maps. This is ideal for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is still a decent vacuum for floors that are not clean that can carry debris under its side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin with ease. The Tyres of the X8, despite their circular shape, are adept at grabbing edges and corners. It's not a fantastic cat litter eater, however our tests have shown it is able to remove around 90 percent of the fur off hard floors.

There's a basic mopping mode which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming one. This is great for spills that aren't serious, but you cannot regulate the amount of water it consumes. It does, however, do an excellent job of picking up pet hair, with a better percentage of hair removal than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is known for its quiet, powerful appliances. It has a beautiful design, a great navigation system and a powerful cleaning power. There are a few niggles in its operation, which prevent it from being ranked as the top smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 comes with a dual-sensor mapping technology that uses a LIDAR to map an area, and a pair 3D scanning cameras to detect and staying clear of obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once the room is mapped the app allows you to designate virtual no-go zones and areas that you want to clean. will automatically clean. The RX2 has superior sensors that can identify furniture and other obstructions instantly. And its sweeping and suction power are top-notch and cleans up surface debris from medium-pile carpeting and embedded dust in bare floors. It's not the most powerful robot available. As with many others, it's not a good climber and is prone to problems with things like metal threshold transition strips.

Some people buy a robot vacuum for the ease of setting a schedule in an app and then forgetting about it for weeks at a time. It's crucial that a robot is capable of the task and that's why our ZDNet staff has tested and reviewed some of the most popular models in order to help you choose the right one for your house.

This budget robovac that looks like any other, but comes with some extra features and better performance. We really like the 980, because it makes use of its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors as well as visual simultaneity mapping and localisation (or vSLAM) to store your home's floor plan. It then uses this information to design a consistent and efficient cleaning path for every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient robot vacuum cleaner than the majority of high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface rubber brushes which pick up dirt from hard floors and carpet and a spinning brush that sweeps debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. However, it is a solid and reliable machine that will keep floors clean for many hours.
