As it absorbs dirt, it dumps it into its own dust bin that it automatically empty into the Samsung Clean Station when full. This feature can save you time by removing the need to empty the bin. The Clean Station also serves as a charging dock for the bot, which is a nice touch.

This Samsung bot comes with a range of settings that let you alter the way it works. It has a "Smart Power Mode", which adjusts suction based on the kind of flooring or type. It can also move in a zigzag pattern or around objects. It is also able to avoid certain items if it thinks they may cause secondary contamination or could pose danger this is a great option for people suffering from allergies.

It was able to handle long hair with minimal tangles and it did not lose suction. The brushes tend to clog up, especially around the nozzles. Be sure to keep an eye on them frequently. The app also alerted when the brushroll was in a tangle.

Neato Botvac D7

The Neato Botvac D7 is one of the most powerful robot vacuums available. It is a great performer on carpets, floors with high pile, and pet hair. Its flexibility and ease of use are top-of-the-line, but it's not equipped to mop, which makes it less suitable for hard surfaces than its competitors. It also has a relatively expensive price and recurring costs.

This model, as with the other models in the Neato Botvac family, cleaner has an distinctive "D-shaped" design that allows it to sweep across walls and into corners better than other models with round forms. Its turret houses Botvision sensors which scan and map your home for superior navigation.

Installing the D7 is easy: connect to Wi-Fi and download the Neato app and follow the instructions to connect the vacuum to your home's wireless router. Once connected the app allows you to create an automated cleaning routine and choose from a variety of modes. The bots include House, Spot and Manual.

After it is fully charged, D7 begins to learn your floorplan by creating a digital plan of your space. Once the map is complete it will begin to clean. This process could take up to an hour, but it can be shortened if you choose the Eco mode.

It's easy to determine when the D7 is running low on battery power because the indicator button turns green when it's fully charged and yellow when it's close to running out. The D7 has a bigger battery than the newer D8 and can last for up to two hours in its maximum 'Turbo' mode.

While the D7 does a terrific job in cleaning floors that are dirty however, it can get stuck on furniture legs and feet and isn't able to easily move to the top or bottom of stairs. In these situations, it'll notify the app so you can help it out.

It's heavier than some of the other vacuums we've tested but it's still fairly portable and easy to move from room to room. It also has a dust bin that is bagless and can be emptyed by simply pressing an on. The bin can hold 0.6 cubic feet and is transparent, so you can see when it's full.

It did not perform better than the Hoover WindTunnel 2 whole house rewind on bare floors however, it was able to pick up the kitty-litter and rice that was accumulated on carpeted floors. It's also more effective at picking up sand embedded in medium-pile carpet as compared to the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe. And it's easier to maintain and has no recurring costs than the BISSELL Zing Bagless Canister.

Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner

The Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner is a bagless upright with strong suction and reasonable prices. It is capable of removing pet hair and other debris on carpets and hard floors. However, it's not the most efficient vacuum in this class and has a tendency to decrease performance as the dirt compartment gets full. This is an issue if you own lots of furniture or pet hair.

The design is relatively robust and easy to move however some users have found it a little heavy for this kind of vacuum. The cord isn't long however it retracts automatically. A convenient feature that many users appreciate is the fact that it can handle the transition between hard and carpeted floors without switching off the vacuum.

A big selling point for this model is the QuickPass brush roll that lets you remove surface debris in just one sweep.
